Use of rubber products in various industries
Rubber and transportation
The rubber industry has developed with the automobile industry. The rapid development of automobile industry and petrochemical industry in the 1960s has greatly improved the production level of rubber industry; In the 1970s, in order to meet the needs of high speed, safety, energy conservation, pollution elimination and pollution prevention of automobiles, new types of tires were promoted. Raw rubber consumption accounts for a considerable proportion in transportation. For example, a Jiefang 4-ton truck needs more than 200 kg of rubber products, a hard seat carriage needs to be equipped with more than 300 kg of rubber products, a 10000 ton ship needs nearly 10 tons of rubber products, and a jet airliner needs nearly 600 kg of rubber. In sea, land and air transportation, rubber products are indispensable. As a means of transport, tyres are a major accessory. In addition to the production of ordinary tyres, radial tyres and tubeless tyres have also been vigorously developed. Some metro lines have also adopted rubber tyres. Railway vehicles and automobiles shall promote the application of rubber spring expansion reducing products, air tight rubber release. Large stores, stations and subways are also using manned transport belts. In addition, there are also “hovercraft” and “hovercraft” made of rubber.
2、Rubber and industrial mines
The industrial sector needs more rubber products, large and small, with many varieties and wide applications, and some have special requirements. The main products are tape, rubber tube, sealing washer, rubber roller, rubber plate, rubber lining and labor protection articles. The application of tape to transport finished products in mining, coal, metallurgy and other industries is constantly emerging in various places. For the sake of large-scale production, steel wire rope core conveyor belts and synthetic fiber conveyor belts are also produced. The rubber lining of the mining mill uses forging rubber instead of manganese steel, which increases the service life by two to four times and also reduces the noise. This product has been promoted worldwide.
3、Rubber and Agriculture, Forestry and Water Conservancy
The development of agriculture, forestry and water conservancy also involves a variety of rubber products. In addition to various tires for tractors and agricultural machinery, the number of employees is growing in rubber tracks for combine harvesters, rubber impervious layers for irrigation pools, water heels, reservoirs, rubber dams, rubber boats, life-saving products, and rubber accessories are available in agricultural and sideline product processing equipment, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery technical equipment. For example, a Tieniu-40 wheeled tractor requires 121 pieces of rubber products. With the development of agricultural mechanization and irrigation and water conservancy, more and more rubber products are needed.
4、 Rubber and military solid defense
Rubber is an important strategic material, which is widely used in military and national defense. For example, a tank needs more than 800 kilograms of rubber; Generally, 68 tons of rubber are used for 30000 ton warships, and almost all military equipment, air force facilities and national defense projects have rubber footprints. There are also many kinds of ships, tents, warehouses, protective equipment and bathing clothes made of rubber. As for the rubber products with special properties such as high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, oil resistance and high vacuum resistance required by the cutting-edge technology, they are even more indispensable. With the development of national defense modernization, the rubber with special properties, which is required to be able to withstand the temperature range of 100-400 ℃ and resist various acids, cities and oxidants, is being developed and produced.
5、 Rubber and civil construction
For modern buildings, rubber is of great use. For example, glass window sealing rubber strips used in buildings, sound insulation floors, green sponges, rubber carpets, rainproof materials, and emulsion paint painted walls. Since the mid-1960s, large rubber spring cushions have been installed in buildings to reduce vibration and noise caused by subways. In foreign countries, rubber cushions are also being trial produced to reduce the damage of earthquakes to buildings. The development of such rubber products is of great significance. Inflatable rubber soft rubber emulsion cement and Jiaozhouqing, which are used to manufacture concrete hollow components, are increasingly widely used in construction projects. The elasticity and wear resistance of cement can be improved by mixing latex with cement. Adding 3% rubber or latex to the asphalt to pave the road surface can prevent the pavement from cracking and improve the impact resistance. The machinery, transportation equipment, protective equipment, etc. used in the construction are all equipped with rubber accessories.
6、Rubber and electrical communication
Another characteristic of rubber is that it has good insulating property and is not easy to conduct electricity. All kinds of wires and t cables are made of rubber. Hard rubber is also used to make rubber tube, rubber rod, rubber plate, partition and battery shell. In addition, it is also widely used as protective articles, insulating gloves, insulating rubber boots, etc.
7、Rubber and health care
There are many rubber products used in the medical and health departments, such as the rubber products used in the diagnosis of anesthesia, urology, surgery, brain surgery, orthopedics, five uterine diseases, radiology, blood transfusion, catheterization, and gastrointestinal lavage. As the accessories of medical equipment and instruments, there are also rubber products. Medical rubber products often have special requirements for it, such as non-toxic, bactericidal, physiological inertia, radiation resistance, etc. Butyl rubber of rubber towel has high biological inertness, chemical stability and slight permeability to water and air. It is used to process rubber bottle stoppers to ensure the preservation of high moisture absorption and anti-cancer agents. Silicone rubber is more and more widely used in the manufacture of medical products. For example, silicone rubber has made great progress in the manufacture of artificial organs and substitutes for human tissues. It is also used to make drug capsules, which are put into proper positions in the body, so that the drugs in the capsules can be slowly and continuously released, which can not only improve the efficacy but also be safer.
