Precautions when installing seals

1. Do not damage the sealing surface or sealing line of the sealing element surface

The sealing performance of plane seals depends on the upper and lower end faces; The sealing performance of hydraulic seals depends on the lip line associated with the hole or shaft. These parts are composed of special materials that are soft and resilient, which are resistant to temperature, corrosion and aging, such as graphite, rubber, plastic and fiber, which are vulnerable to damage. Therefore, special protection and care should be given in the process of handling, installation and pipe protection. Once damaged, it often leaves a great hidden danger to the sealing parts;

2. Do not force installation

Some seals are placed in the trough stuffing box, so they need to be installed tightly. The construction should not be rough and brutal. Forcible loading with great action will inevitably damage the original prefabricated structure of the seals, which is just like the disaster caused by breaking the prefabricated concrete and filling the required parts. The installation of such seals must be very careful, and the insertion must be carried out step by step;

3. Pay attention to balance and symmetry during installation

Place the seal at the position where the effective sealing surface (or lip line) is exactly tightened. After the system is put into use, further observation and subsequent work of fastening seals are required to prevent the system from breaking due to micro leakage due to changes in working conditions (such as pressurization) during operation
