Introduction to Body Metal Processing and Painting Process

Sheet metal processing refers to the processing of metal sheets. The general processes include cutting, blanking, bending, forming, welding, riveting, etc. Sheet metal processing is an inevitable process of sheet metal product forming, so it is also a technology that sheet metal technicians must master. Common sheet metal products include chimney, iron barrel, oil tank, pipe, funnel, etc. Sheet metal processing personnel need to know some geometric knowledge.

Sheet metal processing process The sheet metal processing process varies according to the structure of different sheet metal parts, roughly as follows:

1. Blanking is to cut the material into the required shape according to the expanded drawing. There are many ways to cut materials: ① Shearing machine, which is used to cut simple materials such as strips to prepare for die blanking and forming. With low processing cost and good accuracy, it can only process strips or blocks without holes or corners. ② Punch, the function of the punch is to punch the flat parts after the parts are unfolded into various shapes on the plate. It has high efficiency, high precision, low cost, and is suitable for mass production. It is necessary to design a mold. ③ NC NC blanking. Before NC blanking, it is necessary to use programming software to write NC processing programs. The drawn expansion diagram is written into a program that can be recognized by the NC NC machining machine tool, which has low cost and high precision. ④ Laser blanking, using laser cutting to cut out the structural shape of its flat plate on a large flat plate, requires programming, which can be applied to flat pieces with complex shapes, with high cost. ⑤ Sawing machine, mainly used for aluminum profiles, square tubes, etc., with low cost and low precision.

2. Bench worker’s counterbore, tapping, reaming and drilling angle is usually 120 ℃.

3. Flanging and flanging are also called hole drawing and flanging. It can be understood that a smaller hole is drawn into a slightly larger hole, which is often used for processing thinner sheet metal parts in tapping to increase its strength and number of thread turns and avoid tooth slip.

4. The press must be operated by the corresponding die. Common processing methods include punching, corner cutting, hole drawing, blanking, punching and tearing. The corresponding dies include punching blanking die, convex bag die, tearing die, hole pulling die, etc.

5. Riveting, such as riveting nuts and screws, is usually completed by hydraulic riveting machine or punch.

6. Bending converts 2D flat parts into 3D solid parts. It is completed by the bending machine and bending die. The bending principle is to first bend the knife without interference, and then bend the knife after interference. Bending die has straight knife and machete. When bending, attention shall be paid to the bending direction, bending size, appearance, and chrome plated parts without any creases. Usually, the rivet is pressed first and then bent.

7. Welding means that two workpieces are welded together. Fusion welding includes argon arc welding, carbon dioxide welding, gas welding and manual welding; Pressure welding includes spot welding, butt welding and impact welding; Brazing has electric chrome welding. The welding methods include CO2 gas shielded welding, argon arc welding, spot welding and robot welding. Generally, carbon dioxide gas shielded welding is used for iron plate welding, and argon arc welding is used for stainless steel aluminum plate welding. Robot welding improves work efficiency and welding quality.

What is Body and Paint?

Body and paint usually refers to the vehicle repair technology. Body and paint repair technology restores the concave and convex position (damage) of the vehicle to its original shape, and then applies the painting process to the worn place, so that the concave and convex position can be completely repaired as before.

Body and Paint Price

Body and paint is more expensive than ordinary paint. If it is only used to repair the wear and convex surfaces of ordinary vehicles, the price of this body and paint is about 500 yuan, excluding other costs. If the wear is serious, the sheet metal parts need to be removed for repair, which requires extra money. In addition, whether the car is painted with metal paint also affects the price. The price of non-metallic body and paint is very cheap, about 100 yuan. Body painting costs about 1000 yuan for the whole car, and the price for high-end quality is about 1200-1600 yuan. Of course, it has a great impact on the price of the car itself. BMW needs about 6000 yuan for the whole car painting. About 5000 medium and high-end cars. Body painting of the front and rear doors of the car body costs about 500 yuan, the painting of the bottom edge costs about 200 yuan, and the painting of the wings on both sides costs about 400 yuan. The price of painting on both sides of the vehicle body is relatively cheap, and the vehicle is generally an ordinary vehicle without serious damage. The upper part of the car is more difficult than the body, and the price is a little expensive. The price of body and paint for boot cover is about 500 yuan, while the price of body and paint for roof and front hood is about 800 yuan.

Body painting technology includes: baking paint, electrostatic paint, plastic powder paint, electrophoresis paint.
