Independent R & D helps China from parts to aircraft

With the acceleration of the development of general aviation in China, China’s general aviation manufacturing industry has begun to catch up. From the manufacturing of auxiliary parts and components in the general aviation field, the development of general aviation monitoring and security inspection system, to the manufacturing of general aircraft, China’s independent R & D capability in the general aviation field has been greatly improved with the transformation and upgrading of China’s equipment manufacturing industry, the promotion of the development of the general aviation industry and the military civilian integration strategy.

At the 2017 China International General Aviation Conference, Tianhe defense released a new generation of passive terahertz security inspection system, which is the first passive terahertz airport comprehensive security inspection system in China. It has the advantages of safe zero radiation, protection of personal privacy, wide detection range, efficiency and convenience. In addition, the company has also brought a number of air traffic control equipment, such as anti UAV system, mobile emergency tower command vehicle system, airport surface surveillance radar and so on, which are independently researched and developed, showing China’s strength in the research and production of air traffic control equipment in an all-round and multi-dimensional manner.

On the booth of CETC Wuhu diamond aero engine company, there are three aero engines. Zheng Jun, deputy general manager of the company, told the reporter that these three engines represent three stages of China’s navigation manufacturing level. The first ae300 piston aviation kerosene engine was launched abroad in 2009. It was fully developed and produced by Austrian companies and introduced into China; The second aec2.0 engine was jointly developed by Chery, Austria and China Electronics Technology Wuhu diamond aero engine company; The third aec1.8 engine is a prototype, which is completely independently developed by China and will be ignited and put into trial operation at the end of the year. “Now China’s general aviation manufacturing level has begun to enter the positive R & D stage.” He said.

In terms of general aviation aircraft manufacturing, Henan Sanhe Aviation Industry Co., Ltd., as the only manufacturer in China approved by the Civil Aviation Administration to manufacture autorotator, not only brought China’s first autorotator “Sun Eagle”, but also displayed the world’s first oil powered four rotor manned unmanned aircraft “Xiangyun 320” The multi-purpose long endurance unmanned reconnaissance rotorcraft “cloud piercing Eagle” and “sky eye” vertical take-off and landing composite wing UAV and “small bailing” vertical take-off and landing UAV. Yang Yang, head of the company’s booth, said: “these independently developed aircraft not only show the R & D level of Henan Sanhe aviation, but also show the vigorous development of China’s general aviation manufacturing industry.”
