Introduction to Hardware Stamping Parts

Hardware stamping refers to forming nonferrous metal and other plates into specified shapes by using molds and the press to provide the pressure required for processing at room temperature. Metal stampings are widely used in various fields of our lives, including some electronic devices, auto parts, decorative materials, and so on. Generally speaking, stamping parts refer to cold stamping parts.

Characteristics of metal stamping parts

1. Metal stamping parts are manufactured by stamping under the premise of small material consumption. The parts are light in weight and have good stiffness. After plastic deformation of the sheet metal, the internal structure of the metal is improved, so that the strength of the stamping parts is improved.

2. Stamping parts have high dimensional accuracy, uniform size with the module, and good interchangeability. They can meet the general assembly and use requirements without further machining.

3. During the stamping process, the metal stamping parts have good surface quality and smooth and beautiful appearance because the material surface is not damaged, which provides convenient conditions for surface painting, electroplating, phosphating and other surface treatment.

Design principles of metal stamping parts

1. The designed stamping parts must meet the product use and technical performance, and be easy to assemble and repair.

2. The designed stamping parts must be conducive to improving the utilization rate of metal materials, reducing the varieties and specifications of materials, reducing the consumption of materials as much as possible, using low-cost materials when allowed, and making the parts blanking with no waste and less waste as much as possible.

3. The designed stamping parts must be simple in shape and reasonable in structure, which is conducive to simplifying the mold structure and the number of processes. That is, the minimum and simplest stamping process is used to complete the processing of the whole part, and other methods are used to reduce processing. It is also conducive to stamping operations, and it is convenient to organize and realize mechanized and automatic production, so as to improve labor productivity.

4. Under the condition of ensuring normal use, the designed stamping parts should have lower requirements on dimension accuracy grade and surface roughness grade as far as possible, which is conducive to product interchange, reducing waste products and ensuring stable product quality.

5. The designed stamping parts shall be conducive to the use of existing equipment, process equipment and process flow to process them as much as possible, and to the extension of the service life of the die.

Application field of metal stamping parts

1. Stamping in automobile industry: mainly drawing. In China, this part is mainly concentrated in automobile factories, tractor factories, aircraft manufacturers and other large factories, and independent large stamping and drawing plants are rare.

2. Stamping of auto parts and components: mainly punching and shearing. Many enterprises in this sector belong to standard parts factories, and there are also some independent stamping factories. At present, there are many such small factories near some automobile factories or tractor factories.

3. Electrical parts stamping factory: this kind of factory is a new industry, which has developed with the development of electrical appliances. This department is mainly concentrated in the south.

4. Stamping factories for daily necessities: They make some handicrafts, tableware, etc. These factories have also made great development in recent years.

5. Stamping plants for household electrical appliances: these plants are all emerging after the development of household electrical appliances in China, and most of them are distributed in household electrical appliances enterprises.

6. Special stamping enterprises: For example, the stamping of aviation parts belongs to this type of enterprises, but these process plants also belong to some large factories.
