Physicochemical properties of hydrogenated nitrile rubber O-ring
Hydrogenated nitrile rubber is obtained by selectively hydrogenating butadiene group in nitrile rubber.
The performance of hydrogenated nitrile rubber O-ring seals depends on the content of CAN (18% – 50%) and carbon carbon bond saturation. Its main characteristics are: good heat resistance, organic peroxide vulcanized materials can be used continuously for more than 1000 hours at 160 ℃, while NBR loses its continuous use value at 150 ℃; The oil resistance is excellent, and the performance of oil resistance and alcohol based oil resistance is greatly superior to the corresponding NBR and NBR/PVC blends; Low temperature resistance is better than NBR; Outstanding ozone aging resistance and resistance to various media (hot water, acid, alkali, alcohol). Its mechanical properties are also better than ordinary NBR. It has better corrosion resistance, tensile resistance, tear resistance and compression deformation characteristics.

VI. Application
HNBR is widely used in automobile and refrigeration industry. It can be used as the system seal of the engine and other seals contacting with fuel, and is also an ideal material for making synchronous toothed belt, multi wedge belt and variable speed V-belt of the engine. In order to protect the ecological environment, the old refrigerant R22 is gradually replaced by the new refrigerant. In the past, neoprene or fluororubber seals were usually used, but hydrogenated nitrile rubber was also widely used in new refrigerants, such as R134a, 410A and 407C. In the nuclear industry, hydrogenated nitrile rubber, due to its radiation resistance, can also be used as seals for nuclear power plants.
